In addition to directing each year at UAB, Valerie has been fortunate to work in theatres across the country and around the globe.

For five summers, Valerie was a guest director at Weathervane Playhouse in Ohio directing Oklahoma!,  The Pajama Game, South Pacific, Pippin and Matilda. More recently, she directed Cinderella and Beautiful: The Carole King Musical at Red Mountain Theatre. Her other directing or associate directing/choreography credits include You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown at Otterbein University, The Great Gilly Hopkins and A Little House Christmas at Columbus Children’s Theatre, The Producers at Virginia Repertory Theatre and Annie at the Pioneer Theatre. As the Head of Drama at Campion School, a British international school in Athens, Greece, Valerie directed seven productions including Godspell, which toured to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in the summer of 2010. She is a proud Associate Member of the Stage Directors and Choreographers Union.
